OUR PROCESS
DIRECTOR ON-CALL
While students are on the field, the Senior Director
is on-call 24/7 for teams and parents and is available to assist with any and all travel difficulties, emergencies, or any problem that could arise
on the field.
The number is given to students and is
also available for parents on the password-protected trip details page. The Senior Director is
also in constant communication with the
TL and ATL during the trip.
TRAVEL AGENT ASSISTANCE
We use a well-trusted travel agency with which the university has had a strong partnership for years. Our personal travel agents help us with any flight needs at any time while the teams are traveling.
SECURE DESTINATIONS
We take the safety and security of our teams extremely seriously. All our mission trip locations are vetted through ORU’s travel committee, conversations with our contacts, research, and the State Travel Department.
Every student is enrolled in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), and ORU Missions also partners with Global Guardian, which provides comprehensive 24/7 emergency services.
NO ONE LEFT ALONE
Our students travel as a team, leaving no person alone at any time. We emphasize and train the importance and value of “team" and sticking together.
EXTENSIVE TRAINING PROCESS
Our mission process is approximately 8 months long, including extensive training for leaders and team members, fundraising, creating team culture and unity, fostering personal growth, and preparing
for effective ministry.
STRONG PARTNERSHIPS
Our teams serve with trusted and tested ministries and contacts in the country. No teams are solely ORU ventures but work with verifiable organizations, churches, or missionaries who are doing long-term Kingdom work in their context.
